Dr. Shanda Priest

Dr. Shanda Priest is a board-certified psychiatrist with advanced training in Integrative Psychiatry, known for blending traditional psychiatric medicine with holistic, systems-based approaches that support the whole person — mind, body, and nervous system.

She earned her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Priest completed her internship in psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center and her residency training at The George Washington University, where she served in a leadership role as Chief Inpatient Resident during her final year.

Dr. Priest is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has completed fellowship-level training in Integrative Psychiatry, expanding her expertise beyond conventional medication management to include lifestyle medicine, nutritional considerations, mind-body strategies, and collaborative interdisciplinary care.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Priest brings a distinguished military background, having served as a physician in the United States Air Force. Her service experience informs her structured, mission-driven, and disciplined approach to care — particularly in working with high-performing professionals, service members, and individuals navigating stress, transition, and leadership demands.

Her clinical philosophy emphasizes thoughtful assessment, strategic treatment planning, and precision in diagnosis while recognizing that sustainable mental health requires attention to sleep, nutrition, stress physiology, trauma history, and environmental factors. She partners closely with therapists, wellness professionals, and clients themselves to create comprehensive and individualized plans of care.
